Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV. Then, she joined WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. Her reporting of the ineffective response of the police in response to DUI incidents in Charleston led to an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. O'Dell, after her stint working in Charleston as a reporter, was a co-anchor at the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station before moving over to Access Hollywood where she is an anchor and reporter during weekends. O'Dell's current role as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She's reported on the Academy Awards The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted numerous pre-show arrivals show for The Emmys And The Golden Globes.
